This is near new example of a Colt 1908 that was shipped to the Transportation Officer at the Springfield Armory of Springfield Massachusetts on November 9th, 1944 in a 649 gun shipment.
This 1908 is a type V pistol with the 1911 sights and 19 slide serrations on each side. It bears the U.S. Property on the right side of the frame and an ordinance wheel behind the left side thumb safety.
