This Colt Government Model was shipped to the Arms & Metal Products Company for Secretary de Guerra Y Mariana (

Secretary of War and Navy) on January 15th, 1926 in a 500 gun shipment.

The side of the slide reads "Ejercito Mexicano" which translates to "Mexican Army".  There were also pistols roll marked with "Ejercito Nacional" which translates to "National Army).  Some of these contract pistol slides were not marked.

Overall condition of this pistol is very poor with little to no finish left on what appears to be a partial refinish.  

Overall Mexico procured 5,400 pistols between 1922 and 1941, most of which were acquired by the Mexican government through importers.  Serial numbers ranged randomly from C12800-C20800.  The first 1,790 pistols were Model 1911 pattern, serial numbered between C12800 and C13800.
