This Colt Government Model was shipped to Dayton Gun Headquarters Inc. at 2336 North Main Street in Dayton Ohio. It was shipped on April 30th, 1970 in a 25 gun shipment.
The Colt factory letter goes on to state in the Remarks: "The "BB" stamped with the serial number indicates that subject pistol is one of approximately 1,000 units from a pre-production run of Series '70 pistols featuring the new Accurizor barrel and split bushing."
Approximately 1,000 of these BB series were produced and were the last in the series before the new 70 series pistols would succeed them. The serial number range for these BB Transitional pistols are in the 332500-C to 336169-C range.
This pistol is accompanied by the original factory box.
