This Colt 1903 Pocket Hammer was shipped to the Pacific Hardware & Steel Company in San Francisco, California on February 24th, 1904 in a 3 gun shipment. It is finished in Colt's High Polish blue and retains fire blue on the small parts. It has plunge milled serrations on the slide and the early style hand checkered round hammer.
The slide is marked "BROWNING'S PATENT" APR. 20.1897. SEPT. 9. 1902. COLT PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A.
The Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer stared production at serial number 19999 and worked it's way downward to serial number 16000. In 1906 it would then reset at 20000 and work it's way upward. That would make this pistol the 223rd Pocket Hammer off the assembly line.
