The Colt Model 1907 Pistol was developed from a Colt Model 1905 that was modified after the feedback given from the Pistol and Revolver Military trials of 1907. Colt offered these pistols to the U.S. Government for the cost of $25.00 each which the government procured 200 units for continued testing of the 45ACP cartridge. There were 5 more ordered by General Crozier who was the chief of ordnance and 2 that were sold commercially. They were serial numbered 1-207
