This Colt 1903 Model M was shipped to the Property Officer, Supply Division, Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Fowler Building in Rosslyn Virginia on May 24th, 1944. It was part of a 200 gun shipment.
The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was a wartime intelligence agency of the United States during WWII. Eventually it would become to what is currently the CIA.
This is considered to be a Type IV pistol with 17 slide serrations, Walnut checkered grips, rounded front and rear sights, 3 3/4" barrel with integrated barrel bushing.
