This Colt AirCrewman Revolver was shipped to the Port Transportation Officer at the San Francisco Port of Embarkation in San Francisco, California on November 13th, 1951 in a 150 gun shipment.
This AirCrewman back strap is marked "Property of U.S. Air Force". The Butt of the revolver is marked "A.F. No. 387."
A total of 1,189 of the Colt Aircrewman revolvers would be produced. The majority of them would be destroyed because they were deemed unsafe due to them being manufactured with aluminum cylinders.
