This Colt Banker's Special was sold to the Clinton Prison, State Department of Correction of Dannemora, New York. It was shipped to the Albany Hardware & Iron Company on March 11th, 1941 in a 6 gun shipment.
On the back strap of the pistol there is a "72" hand stamped along with a "CP" for Clinton Prison. 72 would have been the rack number in effort to maintain and manage the inventory on firearms which was a top priority for management.
This Colt Banker's Special is chambered in a .38 and is wearing the factory blue finish with factory checkered walnut grips.
