This Colt New Service was shipped June 29th, 1939 Shapleigh Hardware Co. of St. Louis, MO. The letter states it was for the King Gun Sight Co. of San Francisco, CA in a single gun shipment.
Remarks: Records also indicate this gun was shipped with a swivel and a round butt. The work was processed on Colt Factory Order #8528.
It's chambered in .44/40 and features a 7 1/2" barrel length. The round butt configuration is particularly rare on a New Service.
