This Colt Fixed Sight National match was shipped to the Civilian Conservation Corps in Bristol Tennessee on June 1st, 1934 in a single gun shipment.  The front and rear sights on this National match are fixed as opposed to the optional adjustable sights.  

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 until 1942 in the United States for Unemployed, unmarried men.  The CCC was a major part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal that provided unskilled manual labor jobs related to the conservation and development of natural resources in rural lands owned by federal, state and local governments.
