This Colt Officer's Model was shipped to the State of Massachusetts on January 18th, 1941 in a 400 gun shipment. It has Colt's fine brushed blue finish with checkered walnut grips.
It is believed that there was an error processing the order for these revolvers and they were initially supposed to be chambered in the 38 Special cartridge. Since the error was on the state's end they were forced to take the pistols and would eventually sell them off to the public.
