This Colt Police Positive was shipped to the General Electric Company in Lynn Massachusetts on July 30th, 1941 in a 3 gun shipment. It is believed that this Colt would have been purchased by GE as a guard gun at the time.
This Police Positive is what is known as a "Pequeno Model". The barrel is marked "Police Positive B.32". It is finished in Colt's factory blue finish and has hard rubber grips. As of this writing only 32 caliber Pequano's have been observed. The observed serial number range for these pistols are in the 226,000 - 237,000 range.
It is believed that the Pequeano Model was created by Colt as a means of merchandising the balance of parts from the discontinued 32 caliber Model B Police Positive. It was categorized internally at Colt as a "2nd Quality" weapon. The name Pequaeno means "The Little One" in Spanish. Most of the sales were to South and Central America, Puerto Rico and Philippine Islands with quantities also within the US. Some specimens were shipped to Thailand and sales were also made to the British Purchasing Commission at the early stages of WWII.
