This pistol was produced in 2003 by Colt's Custom Shop and was released to the civilian market. It was a reproduction of a black army WWI USGI M1911 Pistol. The label on the box mentions this as a "Black Oxide" finish. Production was estimated to be limited to roughly 4000 units.
