This Colt Government Model was shipped in 1927. It features Colt's fine brushed blue finish with 28 row factory checkered walnut grips. It has a checkered mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Barrel is in the white as is seen through the ejection port.
Also accompanying this pistol is the original box. It's maroon with a dark blue label on the end with a white label above it. In side the box is the original hang tag, cleaning brush, institution sheets, and Colt catalog.
The small sticker on the top lid was added some time after it left the colt factory to identify the serial number and production date.
The box also has a VL&A sticker added to the outside by the dealer. This is for Von Lengerke & Antoinne of Chicago IL. VL&A was a very popular sporting goods retailer located at 335 Wabash Avenue in downtown Chicago, IL. The factory letter shows that this pistol was shipped March 30th, 1927.
