This Colt Woodsman Sport shipped to the Van Camp Hardware & Iron Company of Indianapolis, Indiana on September 22nd, 1939 in a 5 gun shipment. Special features listed it was furnished with adjustable sights. The majority of first generation woodsman sport pistols were built with fixed sights.
This Colt Woodsman is a Sport Model with a 4 1/2" straight tapered barrel and the optional adjustable partridge front sight. It has Colt's factory checkered walnut grips. The standard configuration for the Woodsman Sport was a fixed front sight.
