This is a considered a type III pistol that features an integrated barrel bushing and a 3 3/4" barrel. It shows the early high polish blue finish, fire blue trigger, thumb safety, grip screw, magazine release, extractor and slide plug.
This Colt was shipped to the Sears Roebuck & Company of Chicago, Illinois on May 1st, 1912 in a 25 gun shipment.
The rampant colt at this point had changed from being encased in a circle to standing alone. You can see that when this pistol was struck the stamp wasn't held straight thus only part of the rampant colt being able to be seen. The hard rubber grips are considered to be type II with the Colt logo written out and the rampant colt behind a large "C" for colt.
