This Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless is late type 1 variant. It features Colt's high polish blue finish with fire blue small parts. Has a 4" barrel with external barrel bushing. Thumb safety has an retaining screw on the right side of the frame. Note the slide has slide serrations that are now fully cut instead of plunge milled. At this point the roll mark has changed from the "Browning's Patent" to "Patented".
This example is factory engraved with factory pearl grips. The engraving work was done by Cuno Helfricht. It should also be mentioned that Helfricht held the position of the Colt factory engraver from 1879 until he eventually retired in 1919. He was then replaced eventually by Wilbur Glahn.
