This Colt M1911A1 was shipped to Officer in Charge at the Naval Supply Depot of Sewalls Point, Virginia on November 16th, 1939 in a 520 gun shipment.
Accompanying this pistol is a holster, web belt and a pair of handcuffs produced by the Marine Metal Products Company of Baltimore, MD. The end label of the box state "Handcuffs - Navy" and have a manufacture date of 1940.
It's believed that this rig belonged to an "SP" or "Shore Patrol" officer. Although no documentation at this point has been able to link them.
