This Colt Service Model Ace was sold to the Griffin & Howe Company in New York, New York. It was shipped Abercrombie & Fitch Company in New York, New York on June 20th, 1939 in a single gun shipment.
This particular Colt Service Model Ace is fitted with aftermarket sights. The manufacture of these sights are unknown.
This pistol was found with the following case which is similar to other cases that Abercrombie & Fitch were producing at the time. It is inscribed on the front latch with "Frederick Wm. Kirby". Included in the case was also the .45-22 Conversion unit SN U-30 which can be found here.
