This 1911 was manufactured by Remington UMC during WWI. These pistols were manufactured from 1918-1919 and had their own specific Serial Number range from 1-21676.
This pistol bears the Serial Number NO4132. The left side of the frame is marked with the "E.E.C." Inspectors mark for Major Edmond E. Champan who was responsible for the entire Remington-UMC production inspection.
The slide is marked with an E above the firing pin stop plate. The Mainspring housing also has an E stamped on the bottom of it visible forward the lanyard ring. Barrel is marked with a single P that is visible through the ejection port. Grips are the original 13 rows of checkering between the diamond screws. Magazine is Remington UMC produced as can be seen by the short baseplate.
