This Colt Service Model Ace was shipped to the Officer-in-Charge at the Naval Supply Depot in Norfolk Virginia on July 5th, 1945 in a 1,500 gun shipment.
This Service Ace features Colt's Parco-Lubrite finish which is observed on pistols near the end of WWII production. Stocks are the later Coltwood which replaced the walnut stocks.
The Service Model Ace was a 5" barrel 22LR caliber pistol. It's weight and recoil was meant to simulate that of a full size 45 caliber pistol.
